Another illness update. Mom's doing better, she should be back to her old self in another couple of days. Rascal and Baxter-the two family dogs, a pair of mini dachshund brothers, were depressed the first few days of their mom's sickness. Especially Rascal, who clung to Mom like Velcro. Baxter got over it quicker and went back to his usual spazzy neurotic self. His spazz attacks made Mom at least smile and call him a nut.

A quick update before I go exercise. Apparently my mom has strep throat. Fun times. I remember having it oh, somewhere between 12-20 years ago (god, now I feel OLD) and no, it was Not Fun. Honestly? I don't know which was worse, the strep throat or the pneumonia.
ANYWAY. I hope she gets better soon. Strep is nothing to mess around with.

Not much has been going on. Been filling up one of my notebooks, but I still have to transcribe that story. I've been working on Phantoms, a stretchy bastard of a fanfic in the Sailor Moon universe. It's been rebooted 2-3 time already.

Also took up loom knitting again. I've got a basic shawl almost done and might post pics of it later. It's mostly just something to do.

Writer's Block: It's always summer

If you could only live in one season for the rest of your life, which would you choose, and why?

Allergy-wise, probably autumn. Spring, for all its beauty, equals me to being unable to enjoy it, courtesy of swollen itchy watery eyes, a stuffy runny nose and being so tired. Summer always ends up being too hot and it can be a struggle to keep my flowers alive through the heat. Plus the storms.
Anyway, autumn has it's beauty, the temperatures feel wonderful and no allergies. Yay! ^_^

On spaceflights, astronauts are awakened by songs of their choosing. What song would you pick?

*thinks* Probably something from one of the Silent Hill Soundtracks.
Such as Room of Angel from SH 4:

Or Cradle of Forest, also from SH 4:

Or possibly Hometown from Silent Hill 3:

Not conventional, but I love them anyway.

What was the first video or computer game you ever played? Did you love it or hate it, and why?

Oh god, that had to have The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time when it first came out in '98, not long after we got the N64. I had to have been 12. I loved it for the story, for the music and the Temples. The Shadow Temple and Beneath the Well... still creepy. So's the Forest Temple, for that matter. Damned Wall Masters. -_-
I still remember jumping when stumbling across Dead Hand during the Beneath the Well sequence-it may have caused a nightmare that night. And that thing's cavern? Made out of skulls. Some other bones may have been thrown in there for good measure.
*goes to find a half-decent pic of Dead Hand*
Okay, here's one:

But yeah, I loved it. Enough to get a lot of games for the PlayStation 1 and play all of those. Final Fantasy 7&8, Legend of Dragoon, a few years later the first Silent Hill (a fun yet nightmare inducing game).

Writer's Block: Ticket to ride

If you could take an all-expense-paid two-week vacation to anywhere in the world with one friend or partner, where would you go and who would you take?

Huh. *thinks* Well, I wouldn't mind visiting Doc Holliday's grave in Colorado. Maybe Las Vegas, so's I can see the permanent shows Cirque Du Soleil has there. Wales, maybe. Or Ireland.
As for the friend... well, if you put a gun to my head and forced me to pick someone to go with, maybe my sister. But I think I'd like to take a vacation alone-if only to be able to enjoy the sights at my own pace and all.

Would you live in the perfect house or apartment rent-free if you found out a brutal murder had taken place there and it was rumored to be haunted? Why or why not?

Yes, yes I would. There are ways to get rid of ghosts, if it comes to that. And to get rid of all that negative energy (for want of a better way to put it), it's just a matter of looking into it and learning.
Anyway, it may be cold or selfish but... if I accept the lease/mortgage/whatever, that place is mine and I'll do my best to keep it that way. The dead should move on to the next plane/afterlife.

Writer's Block: Better than leftovers

If you had to eat the same thing for dinner every night for the next year, what would you choose?

Spaghetti, meatballs and salad. I've loved spaghetti since I was a toddler and yeah, if I could get away with it I'd have more than once every 3-4 months.

*looks through song lyrics file* Another plot bunny, this time for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. And it involves a song whose lyrics I saved in a file here... somewhere...

I dunno how well it'll go though. Harry's voice isn't easy to get. Writing it from Perry's may be easier. I dunno. He's not as... ditzy?... as Harry and it might be easier to channel Perry, him being such a deadpan snarker and all. Oh well. And it'll be a Harry/Perry fic. *begins to outline fic*

Oh yeah. Also gotta type up my Tombstone fic. I worked it on before the vacation and got a bit done while on the vacation. But I never got around to typing it up. It's not long so it shouldn't take me forever to get it typed and posted. Just have to, y'know, get around to doing it.

Let's see... what else... *thinks* Can't remember what else I was gonna write. So I'll post later.
